WelcomHeritage Maharani Bagh

A masterpiece without comparison

Maharani Bagh, the queen's garden, was gifted in the 19th Century to his Maharani by Maharaja Takhat Singh of Jodhpur. Strategically located at the foot of the thickly forested Aravalli Hills that divided Jodhpur and Udaipur's former kingdoms, Maharani Bagh remains essentially a private forest.

The clusters of lovely little cottages and intimate gardens in full bloom are found amidst the forests within the royal estate that abounds with wildlife. Wild-boar, sambhar, and the sloth bear are commonly sighted, and the fortunate may get a glimpse of the elusive leopard.

A machaan overlooking the estate's waterbody offers a spectacular view of the hills, great for viewing the birdlife.

The central dining area is a charming village courtyard complete with thatched roofs, complemented by delicious, authentic Rajasthani cuisine. Maharani Bagh is an idyllic family retreat, as indeed it remains for the Royal Family of Jodhpur. There are sixteen air-conditioned rooms. The estate also boasts of orchards of mango, lime, and pomegranate.
